She is originally from Kayseri. She graduated from Hacettepe University (Eng) Faculty of Medicine in 1993. She received Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Specialization Training at the Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Clinic of İstanbul Şişli Etfal Training and Research Hospital between 1993-2000. In 2001, she founded Abant İzzet Baysal University, Düzce Faculty of Medicine, Department of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery as an Assistant Professor and trained plastic surgery specialists in 12 years. She became Associate Professor in 2005 and Professor in 2010. Between 2014-2018, she worked at Sakarya University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery. She has been working in her own clinic in Nişantaşı/Istanbul since 2019.

In 2007, she was an observer in Prof Dr Bahman Guyuron's surgeries, regarding rhinoplasty and migraine surgery, at the Case Western University Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio, USA.

In 2013, with YÖK Scholarship, she worked for 3 months in Boston, USA, at Harvard University Plastic Surgery Clinic, Department of Craniofacial Surgery. She worked as a clinical researcher 'fellow' in the field of "Craniofacial Surgery and Aesthetic Facial Surgery" alongside Prof Dr Michael Yaremchuk.

She has a total of 50 scientific articles, 32 international and 18 national, about 500 citations to these articles, 1 international book chapter author, many book and book chapter translation.

Dr. Özçelik is a member of as Turkish Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Association, Reconstructive Microsurgery Association, and Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Association of Turkey.

Having served on the board of directors of the Turkish Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Association for 6 years since 2010, Dr. Özçelik served as the Secretary General of the Turkish Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Association twice in 2010-2012 and 2014-2016.

She speaks English.

She has been painting in oil painting since childhood. She opened mixed painting exhibitions. She played basketball 15 years (4-year professionally in Şekerspor).

Facial aesthetic and reconstructive surgery (like repair of facial fractures…), breast surgery and hair transplantation (hair, eyebrow, beard, mustache transplantation ..) surgery are her special interests. She is one of the first physicians to perform hair transplantation in Turkey in 2000.
